Broadcaster Orion Samuelson to speak on the role of R&D in ag and related industries

On September 24, 2007, the Chicago Fed will hold a conference on the role of research and development in agriculture, biotechnology and the food industry. It will focus on policies that promote industry growth and rural development. The keynote luncheon speaker will be Orion Samuelson, agribusiness director at WGN Radio Chicago since 1960. Samuelson is heard daily on 260 radio stations with his syndicated National Farm Report and on 110 stations with his syndicated Samuelson Sez.

The conference will end with a tour of the National Center for Food Safety and Technology and a reception. Seating and hotel availability are limited, so please register by noon on September 19.
