Change of venue for the Sept. 15 WALSAA Football Fire-up
If you attend the 32nd annual WALSAA Football Fire-Up, you will have a shorter walk to your seats in Camp Randall this year. The 2007 Fire-Up takes place on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the UW-Madison Field House (1440 Monroe Street on the UW-Madison campus) not the Stock Pavilion as in previous years.
The event, sponsored by the Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association, begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at 10:30 a.m. to allow time for fans to find their seats before the 11 a.m. kickoff of the game against The Citadel. Entrance to the Fire-Up is through Field House Gate B. The Annual WALSAA Meeting will take place at 8:00 a.m. prior to the Fire-Up. All members are welcome to attend.
Tickets to the Fire-Up are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Call (608) 263-7984 to pre-purchase.
The Fire-Up is open to all alumni and friends of the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The event features music, a silent auction to raise funds for scholarships, and a lunch of steak sandwiches and brats as well as ice cream, beer, milk, soda, apples, potatoes and corn.
Parking will be available at $10 in Lot 34, located east of Tripp Hall by the lakeshore. Additional Parking is available in Lot 60 at $2 and Lot 76 for free. Both parking lots are located on Walnut Street at University Bay Drive. There is construction on campus, so plan on extra time for parking.
