New Constellation seminar series looks at how UW can enhance science outreach efforts

This fall the New Constellation seminar series will probe the questions of how the university can organize, fund, facilitate, staff and evaluate its science outreach programs, and questions of how learners can gain greater access to the researchers and resources of this public land-grant university. The series is a joint project of Science Alliance, the Center for Biology Education, and WISCAPE.

The New Constellation lineup for fall 2007 so far includes:

Sept 10: Jo Handelsman, Dept of Bacteriology
Sept 17: Andrew Taylor, Bolz Center for Arts Administration
Sept 24: Tom Still, Wisconsin Technology Council
Oct 1: Open
Oct 8: Shawn Rowe (Oregon State University) and Carol Warkentein (Ohio
State University) (both help lead campus-based science venues)
Oct 15: Lance Lunsway, Transportation Services
Oct 22: Ruth Shelly, Madison Children’s Museum

Plus the October 30 WISCAPE Brown Bag Forum at 12:30 PM in Room 405 Education will feature Marsha Mallick Seltzer describing the WID/MIR project; this talk will be co-promoted as part of the New Constellation series.
