Aug. 22 forum: Can Wisconsin Meet the Challenge of Biofuels Leadership
John Biondi, president of local biofuels company, C5-6 Technologies, headlines the August 22 CEO Forum. The topic will be Can Wisconsin Meet the Challenge of Biofuels Leadership?
Wisconsin has many of the basic ingredients to lead in the biofuels movement. It has strong resource and industry bases in both agriculture and forestry and world-class research capabilities in both areas; it also has a strong biotechnology base also with world-class research capabilities at UWMadison. What Wisconsin lacks to take a leadership position in this area are two things: the political will on the part of the legislature and sufficient availability of private equity capital directed to this sector. Mr. Biondis presentation will outline an argument as to why the opportunities in biofuels for Wisconsin should be sufficient to overcome those two obstacles.
