Recent Activities
Sunday, Oct. 4: - The chancellor spoke at the Cap Times Idea Fest in a one-hour interview in which she provided her perspective on UW’s pandemic response, as well as the future of the university.
Monday, Oct. 5: - The chancellor gave her "State of the University" address to the Faculty Senate. She provided an update on the campus pandemic response, COVID-19 testing numbers, and the continued actions being taken to promote health and safety.
Tuesday, Oct. 6: - The chancellor participated in a UW Now Livestream discussion with alumni, during which she provided an update on campus operations and the pandemic response, offered insights on the future of higher education, and conveyed her outlook for UW–Madison.
- Vice Provost Steve Cramer sent an email to all fall instructional staff, as well as deans and department chairs, to provide guidance on a number of timely topics, including keeping courses aligned with credit hours, staying within course meeting times, sharing voting information with students, and reserving time in lecture capture rooms. The message was also posted to the Instructional Continuity website.
- In its new weekly COVID Questions feature, Inside UW highlighted questions on aerosol transmission, small business, and managing stress.
Wednesday, Oct. 7: - Working at UW announced a new COVID-19 testing site at the Porter Boat House and provided other updates and reminders about campus testing.
- A media release and The Weekly outlined new steps UW–Madison is taking to limit attendance and game-day activity around Badgers football for the Oct. 23-24 season opener.
- Another article in The Weekly encouraged students to remain vigilant in following public health protocols and addressed indoor health guidelines specifically, now that the weather is getting cooler.
Thursday, Oct. 8: - Facilities Planning & Management issued a message with a number of reminders to building managers, including one about building access and locking and another about signage requirements for campus buildings.
