Shutske to return to biological systems engineering faculty
John Shutske has announced he will step down from the dual roles of CALS associate dean for extension and outreach and Cooperative Extension’s agriculture and natural resources program director effective July 1, 2016. He will return to his faculty position in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at that time.
In his current position, Shutske provides leadership for extension programs related to agriculture and natural resources. He works closely with UW-Extension and CALS leadership, county cooperative extension agents, faculty and staff at UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls, as well as the CALS faculty and staff who hold extension appointments to ensure that the college’s extension and outreach activities support Wisconsin’s agricultural, food and natural resources sectors. He has been in this position since July 2008.
CALS Dean Kate VandenBosch and Cooperative Extension Dean Rick Klemme plan to re-fill this collaborative position. They are working to identify members of a search committee to conduct a national search for Shutske’s replacement.
Deans VandenBosch and Klemme appreciate Shutske’s contributions over the past eight years and look forward to his contributions as a faculty member.
