UW-Madison Faculty Senate special meeting – June 9
There will a special meeting of the UW-Madison Faculty Senate on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 3:30 PM in 1306 HSLC (Health Sciences Learning Center, 750 Highland Ave). The sole agenda item for this meeting is the following (also available at http://www.secfac.wisc.edu/faculty-senate-and-meeting-materials.htm):
AGENDA
1. UW-Madison Faculty Response to Tenure Provisions in Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee Omnibus Motion on the University of Wisconsin System and Subsequent UW Board of Regents Actions.
—Senators and Alternates—
Due to the short notice for this meeting and its timing between academic terms, we are especially concerned about reaching quorum. Without quorum (111 senators/alternates), those present may still hold a discussion and Q&A with the chancellor, but no business can be conducted and no official faculty response can be approved. In order to help determine whether we will reach quorum, we ask that you please RSVP by filling out the very short poll at http://doodle.com/w7da6kck6xkfff7v. If possible, we also ask that you arrive a little early to the meeting on Tuesday to check in.
Faculty Senate meetings are open to all faculty and the general public, but only current faculty senators may make motions or vote. In those districts where an election took place this past spring, either the 2014-15 or the 2015-16 senators/alternates may represent their districts, but not both.
