In global rankings, UW near top for ag and forestry, communications and more
The UW-Madison has been ranked 5th in the world in the area of Agriculture and Forestry by QS World University Rankings. Ranking above us were (1) UC Davis, (2) Cornell, (3) Wageningen University in the Netherlands and (4) UC Berkeley. CALS shares the 5th place spot with Purdue.
Other notable 2015 rankings for members of the CALS community include: 2nd in Communication and Media Studies; 3rd in Sociology; 21st in Environmental Sciences, 33rd in Biological Sciences; 44th in Earth and Marine Sciences; and among the top 100 in Economics and Econometrics.
To put together the 2015 QS World University Rankings by Subject, 3,551 universities were evaluated, 2,186 qualified and 894 institutions were ranked in total. The results were published last week. To explore the ranking lists for more subjects, go here.
