In progress: Faculty vote on CALS governance structure
During the fall of 2013, the CALS Academic Planning Council (APC) undertook a self-study review, issuing a report in spring of 2014. As part of this review, it was recommended the structure of the Council be changed.
APC currently has ten members total, eight are faculty elected from each division. The proposed APC restructure would combine departments into new divisions and would increase the number of faculty representatives from 8 to 11.
View the APC self study report and more detailed information on the restructuring at: http://apc.cals.wisc.edu/cals-apc-restructuring
After reviewing the documents please go to https://www.secfac.wisc.edu/elections/index.asp to cast your vote.
The question on the ballot is:
- Yes, in favor of APC restructuring following the recommendations of the report.
- No, not in favor of APC restructuring, structure should remain as it is.
Voting will take place electronically, administered by the Secretary of the Faculty, from now until November 8, 2014 at midnight. We need ALL faculty to participate, including assistant professors.
