CALS students attend AFA Leaders Conference in Kansas City
Eight CALS students attended the Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Leaders Conference November 4-7 in Kansas City, MO. Each student received full industry support to attend this prestigious event consisting of 500 students from across the country.
The students selected to attend included: Taylor Fritsch, AAE/LSC; Taylor Jarmes, Animal Science; Curtis Horsens, Dairy Science; Dana Mohn, AAE/Dairy Science; Erik Ronk, Dairy Science; Lee Slattery, AAE; Sally Turpin, Animal Science/Agronomy; Connie Eibergen, LSC.
Katie Dogs, a senior majoring in LSC, was selected this spring to serve on the AFA Student Advisory Team. This year-long commitment includes conference planning, sponsor meetings, team building and leadership training and culminates with a trip to Washington D.C. to participate in National Ag Day.
The mission of AFA is to create partnerships that identify, encourage and support outstanding college men and women preparing for careers in the agriculture and food industry.
